Pianist, 23, dies two weeks before Carnegie Hall date
mainMax Bassinson never set his sights on a glittering solo career.
He was a working musician, working hard at college in Minneapolis to improve his skills, working harder all the time to overcome a longterm addiction to hard drugs.
He was due to accompany the college choir at Carnegie Hall next weekend.
One morning his girlfriend woke up to find Max dead. Arterial blockage, the autopsy found.

This is so sad. Besides the Carnegie performance, Max had also applied for a Junior Faculty position at Summer Sonatina International Piano Camp and we had looked forward to having him join us this summer. He wanted to give back to the piano camp that helped launch his love of piano. Our condolences to the family.
