Cecilia Bartoli was de to make her first US appearances in five years later this month, sticking to the West Coast and avoiding New York.

  • U-Live says:

Cecilia has given alternate dates to reschedule the tour as she is keen not to let her fans down in California. These dates were offered to all of the venues. It will be her aim and ours to do everything we can to make this happen on the new dates.

Did you mean “Shame” as in “Pity” or as in Shameful”? She is a serial canceller, isn’t she?

I had wondered how she was getting there as she famously hates to fly. Was she going to sail through the Panama Canal?

    • Edgar Brenninkmeyer says:

Once the Panama Canal’s update is ready, she could board Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 in Hamburg, sail to New York, and from there to either Los Angeles or San Francisco, while doing a recital during the Transatlantic Crossing. If I were in her situation, I would seriously consider traveling by boat. Or fly, but on Etihad First Class Apartment only, which would get me to LA. Either mode of transportation would produce a huge bill for traveling expenses, though. But then, the travel will have to be humane, and that is, sadly, not so much the case anymore…

  • Ludwig says:

I checked ticket availability for one of her Berkeley concerts last week, and it appeared based on the seat map to be a little more than half sold (with a top ticket price $250). Could that have been among the “unforeseen circumstances”?

the rumour is that this was due to excessive fee demands……
