  • mrenterzarco says:

doesn’t look like Jesse Pinkman got in. Or anyone from his State.

  • Doug says:

Rosie Weiss. She recently played Scottish Fantasy with the Billings Symphony in her home town. Outstanding player for her age.

  • James says:

New Mexico was represented by a bassist last year and a cellist the year before.

  • Papageno says:

What a surprise! They’re all my nieces and nephews!

  • Patrick says:

    Yes! And very proud….

  • Papageno says:

I have to say, I did see the NYO-USA last summer and it was a fun concert. Sorry that they won’t be back in L.A. for a performance before their tour to China with Dutoit.

  • Jules says:

I do notice that there are college students in the orchestra. Happy as I am for these kids, I would have liked to see it held to high school students.

    • NYO-USA Cellist says:

Yes, though the application requirements stipulate that any college students must not study music or be enrolled in conservatory programs.

    • Max Grimm says:

I believe the stipulation (besides being aged 16-19) is that those seeking admission to the NYO-USA may not be full time student’s at a conservatoire, or attending a university, studying for a instumental/ performance degree (non-musical college students aged 18/19 I suppose are eligible).
