Where’s the story? There’s a big difference between Rochesters MN and NY.

    • Bob M says:

It’s the link in the word “charged.”

But don’t bother. Anything that happens to that orchestra would be an improvement. I’ve heard them several times and they make many community college orchestras sound like the Berlin Philharmonic.

You mean a small city’s community orchestra plays at a standard less than the Berlin Philharmonic? I’m shocked.

    • Robert Holmén says:

Rochester MN may be a small city but it has a larger population than Rochester NY.

      • JAMA11 says:

…no it doesn’t. Rochester NY: 210,000 people, metro area 1.08 million. Rochester MN: 106,000 people, metro area 212,000.

Shades of the early Barrett Wissman writ small. Like Wissman and IMG Artists, he’ll probably be back in his post in the fullness of time!

  • Peter Bassano says:

I was very interested to learn that there was a third Rochester Orchestra. I knew about Rochester NY, but not about Rohester MN. Rochester, Kent had a Cathedral, a bishop (executed by Henry Vlll) and a castle, when both Rochesters NY and MN culture was limited to totem poles and tomahawks!
