The Basle Sinfonietta has appointed its first principal conductor in 35 years.

The lucky guy is Baldur Brönnimann, 46, Basle born and bred, and a modern specialist.

Starting next year. Good call.

    Excellent. Could would musically and help them to get more of the local culture budget and attract more potent local sponsors.
    If I remember right not so long ago, they had to work really hard at getting more subsidies.
