Soprano Anna Netrebko has graciously stepped in to replace Elīna Garanča, who is unable to perform due to illness, in Sunday’s MET Orchestra concert. Netrebko will perform songs by Dvořák and R. Strauss. Tickets are still available: http://bit.ly/1zTYhB7

    Unfortunately she will NOT be singing the Berg Early Songs originally scheduled. These made a nice symmetrical contrast with Carter’s Three Illusions on either side of the intermission. As always, Carnegie Hall has failed to notify its ticket-holders (e.g. me) of this change in the program, even though we get bombarded with their advertising and fund-raising appeals on a regular basis.
