They’ve added a new V-P, Lisa Mantone, to head the development department, whichh includes fundraising, PR and publications, the last two of which need a kick up the foundations. Lisa started out at the NYPO, before going on to raise squillions for Columbia University, MoMA and WNET.

In a separate move, Bill Thomas, senior V-P, is named Chief Operating Officer (COO).

  • Andrew Condon says:

No news yet on the concertmaster position presumably. Seems odd to me this is taking quite so long, especially since Mr Dicterow gave them a few years notice.

    • NYMike says:

A season-long interval without a permanent concertmaster replacement is not unusual in a major US orchestra. Guests are being invited to sit in. The NYPO also has principal trumpet and English horn vacancies – the E.h. vacancy going back approx. five years.

  • Art Serating says:

Look how long it took them to find a clarinet player.
