  • Ray Richardson says:

The whole of France held a minutes silence at noon. On all Radio France stations this was immediately followed by a brief address by the director of Radio France, Mathieu Gallet. On France Musique,The Libera Me from the Fauré Requiem followed, the Michel Plasson recording with José van Dam. The slow movement of Beethoven 7th came immediately after this with no announcement in between. It was a most moving performance, obviously live from the audience coughing , but at this point annonymous. It really was a great performance too and only at the end did we learn that Daniel Harding had been conducting L’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France live.
