Very clever! I doubt that the composers would approve such an antic but for us, it’s fine

  • Dr Peter Lim says:

Hi Mark, you are so sharp—I could not have done it…..many thanks
Hope to connect with you. I live in Melb—a self-taught fiddler

  • Tom says:

Whoever threw this together provides a decent, though debatable snapshot of the current standard repertoire of violin concertos, with the Shostakovich(1947-48) the most recent addition..
It would be interesting, to some of us anyway, to speculate what the snapshot might have looked like 50 years ago – drop Vivaldi, Shostakovich and maybe Prokofiev, substitute Wieniawski #2, Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole, maybe Glazunov.
And what would be included 50 years from now – has there been anything written this century that will enter the standard repertoire?
