Breaking: Berlin chorus walks out on strike
mainThe Berlin radio chorus walked out today on its first strike in 89 years, forcing the cancellation of a Brahms German Requiem recording.
The chorus has not received a pay rise in ten years and has been out of contract since 1993. Enough was enough.
The strike is indefinite. The radio chorus works regularly with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

Really makes you wonder what on earth the Metropolitan Opera in New York can possibly be complaining about. Most UK musicians (and, it seems, some German ones) would be in clover with the Met’s salaries and terms of employment.
