Just in: Police are called as Met Opera suffers spray-paint attack

Slogans were sprayed on the walls of the Met this morning and police were called.

The stage unions, in dispute with Peter Gelb, immediately denied any involvement. There also seemed to be no connection to the Klinghoffer furore. Just a random spray-can attack, say Met sources.

    Why call the cops? Perhaps they need a case number for their insurance.

    The police were called because the spray paint was not on the outside walls of the building, but rather inside administrative offices, according to the linked article.

    I’d call the police too.

    Some of the spraying was inside, with obscenities. Any good management would call the police.
