It will take a lot of improvement on Wikipedia’s music entries to render the MGG redundant.
I remember the editor-in-chief of the FAZ saying, “We’re not interested in being first; we’re interested in being the best”. Looking around at the general quality of what comes out of Germany it’s hard to argue with that statement, so I wouldn’t be too worried about MGG’s future.
