The Canberra Symphony, in Australia’s capital, is short of cash. Having the Government down the road is ho help at all.

So they’re selling the art in the vaults.

A donor gave them a copy of Auguste Rodin’s Danaide. Rodin usually made 20 replicas of each of his works. This appears to be mint.

The work was first exhibited in the Gallery Georges Petit in 1889 and was purchased for the Musée du Luxembourg.

How much would you bid? Details here.

From the story this appears to be neither a Rodin “copy” nor a “replica,” but an original cast.
