    That’s still quite a bit more than Principals in orchestras get though…

      Is it? Not convinced. Unless you take an individual principal’s salary form one orchestra, where in the top orchestras (and the Barbican would count as a top centre, so it’s a fair comparison if you feel you have to make one) the principal may be contacted to work 50% or less of the time for that salary. Multiply it up to a full time position, and I’m sure it’s more than the mid-range here.

    Looks pretty good in Canadian dollars. What do teachers earn? (schoolteachers or university professors?)

    Can anything save a crappy acoustic? Time they knocked it down and built a new hall for London.

    The real problem is not the salary, it’s London property prices, unless you already live there. So, It thus runs the danger of being a merry-go-round job.
