The next music director of the Barcelona Symphony and Catalonia National Orchestra (OBC) will be Kazushi Ono. He starts in 2015, succeeding Pablo González Bernardo. Before him, the chief conductor (2006-2010) was Eiji Oue.

  • David Boxwell says:

I saw/heard him do a decent rendition of Mahler 5 in Vienna (with that Slipped Disc fave band, the VSO).

  • Nick says:

I also heard him conduct the VSO in a Brahms concert in Tokyo’s Suntory Hall last year. Boring and uninteresting summed it up. Almost walked out before the end. Unfair comparison, of course, but how does a Vienna orchestra on tour make standard repertoire Brahms plain boring?
