  • Tully Potter says:

    Lovely violinist and charming lady.

  • She is a wonderful artist indeed, and a great advocate of Polish composers such Karol Szymanowski or Grazyna Bacewicz. I am delighted to see her name mentioned here. Thank you Mr. Lebrecht!

  • Wanda!! Thank you for posting. I grew up treasuring the few albums of her that I had in my possession during the late 60s and early 70s. A magnificent artist, indeed!

  • I wish there were more interviews of her in English…(hint, hint).

  • David Boxwell says:

Still my all-time favorite Szymanowksi fiddler!

  • Ole Bohn says:

It was a joy to have such a marvelous artist as colleague at the Sydney Conservatorium. Many years ago I heard her with the Mendelssohn concerto in Oslo.

  • Gonout Backson says:

It would be nice to reissue her wonderful American recordings of the 70 (Connoisseur, with Antonio Barbosa). One of the best Franck Sonatas ever.

  • Alex says:

Any reason you don’t mention her full name in this article? I’m sure I’m not the only one who doesn’t actually know who she is.

  • Baron Z says:

For years I kept a wonderful poster for a concert she performed to benefit Solidarity, in which telephone posts were replace by violin necks.
