  • Best wishes for opening night!

  • In Madrid says:

And it was a real success! Fantastically received by the audience here in Madrid; an audience many feared would react badly to a) a work of this subject b) music of this composer. One of the biggest ‘bravo’s of the evening came for Charles Wuorinen and Annie Proulx. No matter what the press say tomorrow, to have seen this project through (over 5 or so years and against much opposition) is a triumph no one should underestimate. Bravo Gerard Mortier and Bravo Teatro Real! May they both continue to do great things for years to come.
