  • Carlo Montano says:

Hi Norman, let’s not forget to mention in BIG LETTERS above that Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne is performing with them in these 2 concerts. The orchestra is one of the finest chamber orchestras in the world, shaped beautifully by the great pianist/conductor Christian Zacharias for the last 13 years. Their previous MD included musicians such as Armin Jordan, Lawrence Foster, Jesus-Lopez Cobos. Principal Guest Conductors have included figures such as Franz Welser-Möst, Okko Kamu, Ton Koopman etc

Looks like a great concert. Ohio will be watching.

  • Keith McCarthy says:

I am watching this fantastuic concert as I write, and feel naive for asking this question: does the Orchestre de chambre de Lausanne always play standing up?

    • Simone Genuini says:

Of course you are extremely naive asking this banal question, the orchestra was obliged to stand up in these 2 Bach concerts because there was no conductor. With 4 pianists and 4 huge pianos in front of the musicians there was no way they could see each others if they weren’t standing up playing. Just to make the concert looked natural even in the numbers where only 1 pianist played they decided to stand up throughout. What a naive amateurish question……..:) Yesterday was the birthday of Jacques Thelen, the agent of most of this camaraderie pianists concerts (Martha included). She loves Jacques tremendously thus she wouldn’t cancel events like this.

  • David Colver says:

I am truly grateful to you for drawing this to my attention. What a happy evening it made.
