'Clutterfuck' musician is found dead
mainMike Kelley, 57, Detroit-born founder of Destroy All Monsters, is thought to have taken his own life. Equally active in aural and visual media, his work was praised for its ‘clutterfuck aesthetic’ (also: clusterfuck). Definitions, anyone? Applicable to any classical musicians?
I believe that’s supposed to be “clusterfuck,” which is what art critic Jerry Saltz termed him. Do you not know what a clusterfuck is? If you read Jerry’s appreciation, you’ll also see Kelley’s art described as “neo-gesamtkunstwerks”. And we all know what classical musician comes to mind now, right?
