Our courts correspondent files the sad case of a composer whose accounts were cleaned out by a team that were hired to debug his computer.

The composer is called Roger Davidson. His great-grandad founded Schlumberger, the oil-services company. Mr Davidson is founder and president of the Society for Universal Sacred Music. He’s not available for comment. A man is on trial for the scam in White Plains, NY.

Wait a second, two threads down the headline screams to the effect: “composers never have any money”

Either this one is the lone exception, or composers are routinely fleeced of their funds.

    • Jon says:

I suspect his money comes from his connection with Schlumberger and was inherited, thus giving him the freedom to devote his time to composing.
