Urgent recall of Mahler tickets (update)

The National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing on Sunday announced an emergency recall of tickets because all the seats for the Mahler’s 8th scheduled on Oct 30, including the stall behind the stage, were available for sale.
All of a sudden, they realized that the work requires a chorus.
Actually three choruses. And eight soloists. That’s why it’s called Symphony of 1,000.
Ah well, they’ll get it right next time. The symphony had its Beijing premiere in 2002.
Update: And here’s the most recent Mahler Eighth in Beijing, conducted by Charles Dutoit on October 6 with the China Philharmonic Ochestra at Poly theatre. The concert on the 30th is due to be conducted by Yoel Levi. It’s raining Mahler 8s in Beijing.
And in Tapiei, where there were two performances on the 9th and 10th.
Mr. Lebrecht, Charles Dutoit and the China Philharmonic, who are in this photo, have NOTHING to do with the performance with which the NCPA made this mistake. The NCPA performance will be played by the China National Symphony and the NCPA Orchestra under Yoel Levi. Dutoit and the China Philharmonic have just done the Mahler 8 a few days ago.
The photo is actually of a performance that had been conducted by Dutoit with China Philharmonic Ochestra at Poly theatre on Oct. 6 (also seen in the linked webpage). It has noting to do with NCPA’s tickets recalling.
Are you sure the pictures are right? These pictures are taken from the opening concert of the 14th Beijing international music festival! NCPA is trying to play the same piece on the 30th Oct..

I am a person which found that your blog message here might some confusion about the Mahler 8th concert.
CPO just performed the Mahler’s 8th symphony on the 6 of OCT 2011 for the opening gala concert of the 14th Beijing Music Festival.

this concert involved 6 choirs and 8 soloist and it was happened in Poly Theater.
it was a well organized performance.
The National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing will going to perform the Mahler 8th symphony which this is not belong with the 14th Beijing music festival, and the website you given where talking about the concert on the OCT 6th, not the premiere performance on 2002.

Mahler 8 will be performed for the first time in Colombia Oct. 15/16! Maestro Enrique Diemecke of Mexico will lead the Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá in this premiere performance. In Latin America, Mahler 8 has previously been performed only in Venezuela, Argentina & Mexico.
The Colombians have planned well, it appears, for the space required to present this enormous symphony. Here’s a link with a blueprint of the stage modifications they’ve implemented for their performances:
