The violist Paul Neubauer and Wu Han recently performed a newly-discovered viola impromptu by Dmitry Shostakovich.

The score was found in the papers of a member of the Borodin Quartet. It is one of DSCH’s Jewish-themed works.

    Err, actually not 😉

Famous song from movie “Counterplan” “Vstrechny”-“Nas utro vstrechaet prohladoy” D.Shostakovich stole from compositor Mihail Vainberg{1932} and DS admit but refuse to share royalty. That infamous plagiarism was described in DS bio by K.Meyer -student of DS.

  • JOSHG says:

By what evidence is this piece “Jewish-themed”?

    • esfir ross says:

As Jewish as Wu Han. Why Borisovsky hide for so long? Remember Mikhail Goldshtein and his pranks.

  • Ed Oswalt says:

Borisovsky was in Beethoven Quartet not Borodin.
