A two-month internal inquiry has found the allegations of abuse against Peter Martins, cheer-led by the New York Times, to be uncorroborated.

The veteran director will not, however, return to his former job.

Nor will the Times retract. So where does the truth lie?

Oh he’s still dead. There will be more “victoms” coming forward until he’s down.

This has gone far enough. The scrounging around for any tiny little bogeyman under every last rug is WORSE than the McCarthy communist witch hunt.

My suspicion (and that of many others in case you live in a typical leftist fed echo chamber) is that this bogeyman has been concocted to deflect from the most heinous act of sedition in the history of the United States: the collusion of the FBI, DOJ, State Department, Obama administration, DNC and main stream media to not only rig the outcome of the 2016 election, but to discredit the actual results. In another time and place, dozens if not hundreds of people would be marching to the gallows about now.

We’re presently in a cold civil war fought between those that believe in professional government versus proponents of what the Founders conceived as “volunteer” government.

Let the leftist boilerplate slogans commence!

So, a career was ruined and a name bismirched based on mere allegations.

And SD cheerleaded as well….of course only “relying” on the NYT…what a world of hypocrisy.

  7. Cyril Blair says:

He was charged with assaulting his wife in 1992, so I’m not sure why charges of abuse from dancers he worked with would be surprising.

It sounds like the woman conducting the investigation was biased against the accusers from the get-go, and she was the one who wrote the final report.

  8. Sharon says:

There may be a couple of things that are happening here. First, even in the face of “MeToo” physical abuse is not treated as seriously as sexual abuse unfortunately–artists are expected to have a “temper”. Also, he did resign so why should the NYCB blacken their own reputation (by having to admit to ignoring this) when there is no longer an issue going forward? Remember that the School of American Ballet is a huge part of the NYCB and the NYCB has to ensure students and their parents that they will be safe. Third, given Martins’ ongoing drunk driving case (a second conviction could land him in jail) why give ammunition to the district attorney (that in other situations his judgement could have been impaired because of a drinking problem)? I am not justifying the actions of the NYCB (although if Martins was truly innocent why not release at least a redacted version of the report?) but I understand the rationale. Possibly we will see a similar result in the Levine and Dutoit situations when most of the allegations are for situations that are even older and it is truly one person’s word against another as their abuse, unlike Martins’, always took place behind closed doors.

  9. YoYo Mama says:

The news media should never have been reporting stories of mere accusations as if they were fact. Perhaps because it was false journalism they feel there is nothing to be retracted. Just wait for the libel lawsuits to start. NYCB is finished, anyway. ABT should take over the building.
