Israeli pianist takes over US festival

Inon Barnatan has been named music director of La Jolla’s SummerFest.

He succeeds Cho-Liang Lin, who has been in charge for 18 summers.

    Barnatan is an artist-member of Lincoln Center’s Chamber Music Society.

    The photo was taken at the Inari Fushimi shrine in Kyoto. Of the many shrines in this city, it is my favourite.
