British tenor is jailed for child offences

Nicholas Ransley, a professional opera singer, has been jailed for 13 months for possessing indecent images of children.

Ransley, 50, has sung with most British opera companies and as part of a travelling group, Tenori.

    It seems a little odd to illustrate this story with a photo of the stage of the Royal Opera House. The only role Ransley ever sang at Covent Garden was Ein Offizier in Ariadne auf Naxos, which has, I believe, just nine words.

      Perhaps it’s the organisation that Mr L happens to have a down on at the moment.
