  • Theodore McGuiver says:

Ha! Wish our production had had some of that instead of just Calixto Bieto’s self-pleasuring…

  • Bass1 says:

As tasteless as the upskirt promotion recently taken down.

  • Mike Schachter says:

Turandot is an opera I would travel miles to avoid, in any production .

  • Peter says:

The promo is cheap, silly and tacky – but it made me (man /65) smile.

  • DESR says:

May the good Lord preserve us!

Do they not like opera as it comes (ahem) in Stockers? They clearly love this sort of thing, but we knew that…

  • Respect says:

Oh, for God’s sake, it’s a play on the opening of “Amelie”. One should really get out more.

  • Bruce says:

No opera is orgasmic if the voices aren’t up to the music. The guy actually singing at the end sounds like a lieder singer at most (and the pianist better not play too loud).

And if you’re going to play with moaning on pitch, why not have the moaning actually be on pitch? That way the tune might be recognizable. It was almost at the end before I realized what they were doing.

Anyway, anyone who buys a ticket based on this ad is going to be sorely disappointed when they get to the show and find out what it’s like to sit through Turandot.

  • David Nice says:

It was a lively show, not especially outrageous (and little even simulated sex), a good shot at a scaled-down Turandot – and the packed audience was of all ages.
