John is a fabulous musician and conductor for starters. He is the founder of the Orchestra of St John’s Smith Square, now known as the Orchestra of St John’s (OSJ). The website he champions as music for autism is: http://www.musicforautism.org.uk/aboutus.php. [His brother, the equally brilliant arranger, Jeremy Lubbock, has arranged charts for the biggest names in the pop industry. composed a beautiful piece for piano and strings (“Moods”) for me two years ago, which received its European premiere by John Lubbock conducting with Derek Paravicini, a pianist who is blind. How he learned this piece is something of a phenomenon.] John’s gifts are bringing music to others is both inspiring and greatly respected.
Respect, sir.
The wonderful work musicians like John Lubbock or Jaap van Zweden do for autism deserved greater recognition and a lot more publicity.
