Just in: German orchestra and chorus musicians are awarded 2017 pay rise
mainThe Deutsche Bühnenverein has just announced a pay rise for all employees at state theatres and opera houses, including chorus and orchestra musicians.
The increase, backdated to January 1, 2017, will be two percent – or a minimum of 75 Euros a month for those on the lowest wages.
many German theatres, opera houses and orchestras are funded on municipal level (e.g. “Stadttheater”).
these get a slightly different pay rise from the state ensembles mentioned above: 2,35% starting in february.
