Gubbay’s back in business

The music impresario Raymond Gubbay has told the Mail on Sunday that he has ended his consultancy with the German firm that bought his company in 2008 and is ‘working on a new venture’.

Deutsche Entertainment has posted a €18.8million loss on its rock festivals.

The Raymond Gubbay Ltd part of its business remains profitable.

    The only man in Britain who actually makes money by promoting classical music. Accordingly, regarded with bafflement by the entire classical music establishment.

    Delighted to see he’s back! Hopefully he’s not going to limit his new venture to Brexitland.

    What terrific news. One of the great men of classical music – I’ve always loved working with Raymond. His knowledge of repertoire is astonishing: but he just knows which bits of it will sell, and doesn’t do the bits which won’t.
