Why is it a catch? Perfectly fair to offer young people the chance to experience opera at a very reduced price. I can recall when the Young Friends of Covent Garden offered young members (can’t recall the age limit but think it was 26) 12 discount coupons worth 50 pence each for use when purchasing £1 amphitheatre tickets. This was part of a package of benefits in return for a £2 annual membership.
