The music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra is among the latest batch of screen celebrities to be awarded a place on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.

Gustavo Dudamel will be jostling for limelight with the likes of Goldie Hawn, Hugh Laurie, Tyra Banks and Amy Adams.

Fame, at last.

  1. SoCal Dan says:

Whoever nominated Maestro for his Hollywood Walk of Fame star has paid $30,000 to the local chamber of commerce for this privilege.

  2. Robert Holmén says:

And in addition to that $30K, the star has to assert they do want it and will show up for the ceremony. I wonder how that works for the posthumous honorees.

You can read the whole ins and outs of getting a star in this Time article

“…the star has to assert they do want it and will show up for the ceremony.”

That’s what surprised me. Dudamel is so reclusive and self-effacing…
