I found the performance by two Paris concertmasters – who happen to be sisters – simply irresistible. It’s my Album of the Week on sinfinimusic.com.

But the way the two players describe each other in the accompanying booklet is almost the opposite of how each of them plays.

Great article Norman. I know them both. They are wonderful violinists and lovely individuals. I know Sarah better, as she has performed with my orchestra a number of times. Her last performance with us was Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, which she masters. I recently ran into them in Paris at the “1er Salon du Violon” where they played a smattering of lovely duets.

Thanks, Lisa. Both are terrific artists and the performance is a must-hear: a riveting insight into relationship dynamics.

Et leur père est Vladimir Nemtanu, concertmaster de l’Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine depuis 1980. Deux super musiciennes et filles extra !
