The Scottish Chamber Orchestra, imprisoned at Gatwick earlier in the day, brought down to London a thoughtful birthday gift for Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, who turns 80 today. It’s a waistcoat in his favourite tartan.

mmm well thats what happens if you use easyjet!
I was at the Concert last night which was the most wonderful occasion. What a magical composer Max is…his music lit up the huge hall and of course the bagpipes lifted the roof!
He wore the new SCO Tartan waistcoat!

Michael,Easyjet actually has the best musical instruments policy! We had played a concert in Inverness on Sunday afternoon and the only flight which would get us down to London that night was the Easyjet flight from Edinburgh,so we’d gone straight from the stage to the coach, got to Edinburgh with plenty time to spare only to find that the flight was delayed due to problems at Gatwick.I’m not sure if it was Easyjet who locked us in! Still trying to establish what happened.Waiting to hear from Gatwick.
