Does anyone this piece and composer?
Rameau, Les Boréades
How fitting! The most beautiful piece of the most beautiful opera of Rameau, Les Boreades, to bid farewell to this world.
I’ll always treasure Brueggen’s Rameau recordings. They opened my eyes to the genius of that composer.
Thank you
Frans Brüggen conducting his beloved Rameau on the 14th of May 2014. The concert was the final event of a five days residence of the entire Orchestra of the 18 C at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. Five days full of inspiring workshops, master classes and rehearsals. The orchestra is the Orchestra of the 18 C doubled by the students. Frans Brüggen started in the Seventies the department of Ancient Music at the Royal Conservatoire.

Really heartbreaking.
Otherworldly! Magnificent, understated yet powerful. Beautiful tribute to Frans Bruggen.
Couldn’t agree more with Marcy. Thank you very much for posting, Norman.
He was my idol as a recorder player. I grew up on his solo recordings and the 18th cent. A sweet, remarkable genius. Very lucky I got to meet him once. This recording is as beautiful as it gets.
Quel génie fabuleux et inoubliable!
