Michael Francis, the LSO double-bass player who got his breaks deputising for a late or absent Valery Gergiev, has been named music director of the Florida Orch.

If I’m not mistaken, Mr. Francis also led the LSO in the Lisitsa’s recent Rachmaninoff recordings for Decca.

I thought the orchestra sounded great in the performances I heard from that set.
