Dutch tenor dies at 62
Hein Meens, a stalwart of Nederlands Opera who took up conducting as a sideline, died suddenly on Friday. He was also a respected teacher at the Amsterdam Conservatorium.
Andrey Boreyko, much in demand, has told Dusseldorf he wants out. Needs more time to himself, apparently. He’ll finish in 2014. Schumann also got fed up in Dusseldorf. Threw himself in the Rhine, if I remember aright.
